Just for fun!

I may be a little behind on this, but this video for the BHLDN wedding separates is the cutest!

What to do?

I've always had an eye out for a fabulous, slinky, old-Hollywood, bias cut dress. Like this one, a glamorous Jean Harlow wears.

I came across this gorgeous, vintage number at one of my new favorite stores, American Rag, while on our shopping trip in LA. The dress I dreamed of would have been grey or a soft, elegant color, however the one I actually bought is a cream color. I LOVE it and I figured, "hey, I'm a bride-to-be, I can wear it for something." It's very bridal, so I can't wear it to anyone else's wedding. It could potentially be a dress I change into for my reception, but I just don't think it fits my venue or my wedding and I really want to wear my real dress as long as possible.

Sadly we're not the kind of people that get invited to a lot of balls or galas, so what's a gal to do with a beautiful, white full-length gown? Any suggestions.

City Hall Nuptials

I love this spread on short dresses. Any of these would be perfect for a City Hall wedding or a second reception. Last summer Kyle and I went down to City Hall to get a domestic partnership, it was so fun to see the giddy couples and beautiful brides in cute little frocks on their big day.

A Laid Back Affair

I saw this fashion spread and had to share! It's filled with BEAUTIFUL laid-back, beach worthy dresses that while laid-back are still adorned with gorgeous details and lots of drama. Can't forget to mention the fabulous accessories.

Not usually a fan of beading, but L-O-V-E the bow and beading above.

Vintage, so adorable

"I love you're skirt, where'd you get it?"
"It was my mom's in the 80's."
"Vintage, so adorable." ~ Regina George, Mean Girls

Today is my second day of trying on wedding dresses (yippie!!). Since my mom can't be there, my girlfriends are accompanying me for round two. I am torn though. I intended on getting my mom's dress altered to a modern style and wearing it down the aisle. She brought her dress when she came to visit a month ago, I tried it on and it fit perfectly, except for the fact I'd have to wear flats (No!!!!!). I'm working on getting an appointment with a dress maker to discuss the overhaul. In the meantime I will be seeing what else is out there. I absolutely love the idea of wearing my mom's dress, not 100% convinced it's the right choice.

My stunning mother in 1979.

What do you think? Has anyone worn their mother or grandmother's dress?

Vintage Vintage Everywhere!

I am smitten with not only, the bride's beautiful number in this shoot, but also with all of her guests, who look equally vintage and fabulous.

This is the exact laid-back, glam look I'd love to don for our rehearsal dinner.

Two Perfect Wedding Dress Alternatives

While I want something a little more traditional, I LOVE these two beautiful wedding dress alternatives. These brides look stunning in their non-traditional gowns.

The Dress and the Tiara

Just two days before Prince William and Kate Middleton's big day and we're all wondering what dress the beautiful style maven is going to wear.

I plan on waking up early to see the spectacle and the dress but I forgot about something very important for a Princess, a tiara.

Click here to see a great post on the royal tiaras. These beauties make me think twice about a veil.

Sorry for the lack of posts over here, I have been neglecting my wedding while I traveled to Spain and Portugal. However, this post is very apropos as I am trying on wedding dresses for the first time this weekend!!
